• Negotiated down to a 60/40 split in the party’s favor and put the pair’s camp and provisions behind it (Session 5).
• Was on the receiving end of the party’s lie about the haul, asked for the split anyway, took Bean’s five gold, and left the dig with his brother (Session 6).

The party came on him face down on the road north, an orc javelin standing out of his back, killed before he could react by the same band that came up the canyon after them. One hand was closed hard around a sending stone — its pair was in Norbus’s pocket, and he had been trying to use it when he died.

Hamish pried his fingers open. Barnaby carried him. Adabra Gwynn gave up a burlap sack for hauling herbs, and his boots stuck out of the end of it; Sage gathered flowers from the field and Rut opened the buds, and they laid them on top.

They left him in a bush outside the Quest Master’s house, in the rain, while they collected their pay — then carried him into the inn and set him down at his brother’s feet.
