Adabra Gwynn

Midwife & Apothecary · PhandalinNeutralFirst appeared in session 4

A Colletite of Chauntea who lived and worked in the stone windmill at Umbrage Hill — the one the party saved from two manticores. She is now in Phandalin, and the windmill is gone.

  • Refused Harbin’s request to relocate: she insists she can’t brew anywhere but her windmill, and her potion supply matters to the town (Session 5).
  • Gave the party a free healing potion (Dax tossed it to a bleeding Thom) and a home-cooked meal (Session 5).
  • Knows Harbin well; sent a note back with Sage confirming she’s staying put (Session 5).
  • Warned that orcs have grown more common in the area lately.
  • The party agreed to check on her on the return trip — and did.

The evacuation (Session 7)

The dragon had not moved her. The orcs did. Thom came back through her yard with a dead dwarf over Barnaby’s shoulder and told her about the encampment and the seven that came up the canyon, and the color went out of her: she remembers what orcs do here. A war band burned Phandalin to the ground about a century ago, she said, and they have been picking at the region ever since. Orcs are quite devastating.

She asked to come back with them, packed her brewing equipment, and walked to Phandalin in the rain. She would not give up a bedsheet to wrap Dazlyn’s body in — she was not soiling her linens with his blood, dearie — but she found them a burlap sack. She told Rut his orc eye was very good work and patted him on the head.

That evening a runner brought word to the inn that Umbrage Hill had been destroyed by the dragon. She is alive because the party came back for her. Harbin Wester paid them 35 gold for it, in front of her.
