Umbrage Hill
On the campaign map →Local map →
A stone windmill outside Phandalin, home and workshop of midwife-apothecary Adabra Gwynn, who brews the healing potions supplied to the town.
The party arrived on Harbin’s contract to bring Adabra to safety and instead found two manticores tearing the place apart (Session 4). After a long, scrappy fight — fog cloud, magic missiles, handaxes, sneak attacks, an Action Surge — Bean and Sage put the manticores down.
The windmill survived that. Mostly. Adabra stayed: she couldn’t brew anywhere else, and the town needed the potions. The party promised to check on her on the return trip.
Destroyed (Session 7)
They kept the promise. Coming back from the temple with a dead dwarf, they told her about the orc encampment and the seven raiders — the threat the dragon had never been to her — and she packed her brewing equipment and walked to Phandalin with them in the rain.
That same evening a man ran into the inn with a report he had just been handed: Umbrage Hill had been attacked. It was a dragon. There was nothing left of it.
Adabra is alive because the party came back for her. Phandalin’s only source of healing potions is a pile of stone on a hill, and the woman who made them has no workshop to make them in.
